I really love to carve little thread bobbins. This one was made from some pin cherry so I left the bark on for detail!
I love to think about learning as a web. Each time I create something little strands move outwards to connect concepts and topics. For instance, as I carved this small bowl and spoon I was thinking about viking long ships and the craftsmanship of medieval times.
Sometimes even a beautiful day can go unappreciated if somebody’s stress level is running high. This day, I chose to sit and whittle to relax and get my head right. Active meditation in nature helps me be calm and appreciate the moment.
